Our latest Lunch & Learn was not your typical “grab a snack and listen” kind of session — this time, we built actual AI-powered apps!

Each person got to roll up their sleeves and create something fun using free AI tools like ChatGPT, Replit, and Canva. No coding skills required — just curiosity, creativity, and a sense of humor.

💡 The Challenge: Build Something Fun with AI

Everyone had two app ideas to choose from:

🥠 Option 1: “Fortune Cookie for Your Code”

Describe a coding problem or work challenge, and watch an animated fortune cookie “crack open” to reveal a mysterious message — followed by a genuinely useful tip.

Example:

“My code is running slow”

Fortune: “Speed comes to those who measure twice, optimize once.”

Crack it open → “Try profiling your code first and check for nested loops or big database calls.”

🔄 Option 2: “Corporate Translator”

The hilarious translator that turns what you want to say into polished corporate speak — and back again.

Example:

Honest: “This meeting could have been an email.”

Corporate: “We could optimize our collaborative efficiency through asynchronous communication.”

How It Worked

The process was super simple:

  • Tell the AI what you want to build.

  • Watch it generate working code in seconds.

  • Paste it into Replit, click Run, and boom — your app is alive!

  • Customize, add fun features, and show it off.

🚀 What We Learned

  • AI can make anyone feel like a developer — even over lunch!

  • You don’t need to code to create something cool.

  • The best ideas often start as a joke.

  • And sometimes, the smartest debugging advice comes wrapped in a digital cookie.

🏆 And the Winner was... Jason!

Jason chose the “Fortune Cookie for Your Code” option — and his app stole the spotlight! With its satisfying cookie animation and mix of mystery and practical wisdom, it was equal parts funny and actually useful. The team agreed: Jason’s fortune cookies delivered both enlightenment and entertainment. 🍪✨
